Christine Smith has worked in the Office of the Secretary of Defense for Policy within the Department of Defense for over eight years. Ms. Smith brings over 25 years of experience focused on providing analysis-driven, results-oriented business solutions to diverse industries. Ms. Smith also owns a retail business called Khazana (“Treasure”) that provides items from across Asia (primarily antique carpets and wood carvings) and gives back to the communities overseas – she provides a percentage of the profits to vetted organizations providing education and job skills training in conflict countries. Ms. Smith is a graduate of the Presidential Management Fellow program, holds a Masters in International Business and Management from the University of Toledo, a Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor), and a Certificate in Legislative Affairs from Georgetown University. Ms. Smith is a member of DoD Senior Professional Women’s Association, Bankers Without Borders, Women in International Security (WIIS), United Nations Association of the Capital Region (UNACR), Women’s World Banking International, AFCEA International, and the University of Michigan Alumni Association. Prior to 9/11/01, Ms. Smith was a professional actress, singer, and martial arts instructor.
